The Springfield Council of PTAs will host Create with Kindness on Thursday, May 8, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Drury University’s Findlay Student Center Ballroom. This free event, designed for youth ages 13 and up and their parents or caregivers, will offer an evening of meaningful conversations about social media and screen time.

Attendees will enjoy a free taco bar, door prizes, and opportunities for teens and their caregivers to connect in thoughtful, engaging ways. Highlights include a live teen panel, guided family discussions, and a screening of winning entries from a student PSA contest focused on kindness and digital responsibility.

“So often, conversations around teens and social media are negative,” said Sandi Haustein, Vice President of Programs for the Springfield Council of PTAs. “We want to remind families that social media isn’t all bad. It can be a powerful tool when teens feel supported, heard, and empowered to use it with intention.”
