(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – Today is Special Election Day for two runoff races in Greene County.
The Tuesday special election in Willard is taking place due to a 349-to-349 tie in the race for mayor between Sam Snider and Troy Smith.
Fair Grove voters are also heading back to the polls because of a ballot mix-up. In the April election, ballots for four voters in Ward 2 were incorrect due to streets being placed in the wrong ward after boundary changes following the 2020 census.
A Greene County judge has ordered a special election to redo the vote, which applies only to voters in Ward 2 of Fair Grove.
The polling locations in Willard are Willard Community Center at 222 W. Jackson St., and Willard First Baptist Church at 202 W. Jackson St.
The polling place for Tuesday’s election in Fair Grove is the Fair Grove United Methodist Church at 83 E. Hickory St.
